1. I live in a safe neighborhood with a Neighborhood Watch Program. Do I really need a monitored home security system?
While Neighborhood Watch Programs are beneficial, they are not staffed by professional law enforcement personnel. According to the FBI and the National Home Security Council, a burglary is committed every 12 seconds in the United States. That's 86,000 burglaries every year! Homes without a home security system are 2.7 times more likely to be burglarized, so the short answer is "Yes".

2. Won't a "Do it yourself Alarm System" I install myself provide the same level of protection?
A system that you buy and install yourself will certainly sound an alarm and flash lights during a break in, and that may be enough to drive an intruder away, however without
monitoring you'll have to contact police yourself - or depend on your neighbors. Monitoring adds another level of protection that's invaluable.

3. Doesn't setting my lights on a timer offer protection?

4. I've installed sensors on my doors, isn't this comperable to a home security system?

5. I have indoor pets. Won't they set off my home security system?
